This piece, a customer return … Read more This 1980’s Gerhard Herbst studio Bangle is hand constructed from two individual shell form components. This piece, a customer return which came back to us in the mid 90’s has remained in our archives for about 30 years. We recently reshaped and refinished this work back to its original condition and it is now available for sale. Measuring 1 1/2’’ at its widest point, this piece and weights in at 47 grams and fits wrist and fits wrist sizes from 6 1/2’’ to 7’’.

Modernist designer, Gerhard Herbst translates sculptural form into the jewelry medium. Popularly know for his spatial shapes and fluid manipulations of metal, Herbst began producing his unique style of jewelry in 1975. Herbst then continued to study both sculpture and jewelry design at San Diego State University, and upon graduating he established his jewelry studio in Ocean Beach California. Adopting a wholesale manufacturing business model, Herbst would reproduce designs which he would then sell to leading Museum shops and galleries throughout the United States. Although no edition numbers were set, total production was limited as each piece was individually and personally handcrafted by the artist. See less
