The main body modelled with plain tubular upright detailing ending on a large circular base in Ormolu and silver plate.

Condition: Good overall condition with no losses. Professionally re-gold and silver plated, possibly experienced little use during their lifetime.

Gio Ponti was a prolific Italian architect, designer, and artist born in Milan in 1891, who played a pivotal role in shaping 20th-century Italian design. After graduating in 1921, he opened his practice and became a key figure by founding the magazine Domus in 1928, organizing the Monza/Milan Triennale Exhibitions, and working with industrial manufacturers to bridge the gap between art and industry. His career spanned over 60 years, with initial work in a neoclassical style evolving through modernism, resulting in iconic buildings like the Pirelli Tower and diverse designs in furniture, ceramics, and glassware.
