This elegant 1920s James A. Cole “Mastermade” wooden tobacco humidor combines early 20th-century craftsmanship with functional design. Made in Ingersoll, Ontario, this compact cabinet features paneled doors, decorative turned finials, and a classic silhouette elevated by its original detachable stand with beautifully turned legs and a scalloped apron.
Inside, the humidor retains its original copper-lined interior, a premium feature used to regulate humidity and protect cigars and pipe tobacco. The door also includes the original perforated copper moisture panel, a rare detail that adds authenticity and collector appeal.
The exterior was later finished in a deep black paint, showing desirable vintage character: subtle rub-through, small paint chips, light scratches, and attractive age crackling throughout — the kind of surface patina that appeals to antique lovers. Structurally solid and visually striking, this piece works beautifully today as a small accent cabinet, entryway piece, or storage chest.
