This finely cast 17-inch bronze sculpture depicts the iconic Discobolus (Discus Thrower), one of the most celebrated figures in classical Greek art. The original masterpiece was created in the 5th century BCE by the sculptor Myron, renowned for capturing athletic dynamism and anatomical precision.
This piece is a 20th-century bronze reproduction “after Myron,” featuring a rich verdigris green patina that highlights the muscular tension and poised movement of the athlete. The Greco-Roman figure stands on a round plinth, echoing the form of archaeological museum casts.
