Born in 1963, he studied fine art at falmouth school of art and later completed a master’s degree in painting at chelsea school of art, london. Surridge was elected an associate member of the royal west of england academy in bristol and later became a full royal academician at rwa. He has exhibited widely in the uk and abroad, including: royal academy summer exhibition , london royal west of england academy , bristol newlyn art gallery , cornwall falmouth art gallery , cornwall cheltenham art gallery & museum gallerie nordenhake , berlin his work is held in public and private collections including falmouth art gallery, university college london, and a number of regional museum collections.
