A beautifully crafted 19th-century Sheraton / Empire chest of drawers showcasing rich flame mahogany and classic period detailing. This stately piece features five drawers in total: two smaller top drawers framed in a carved rope-twist border and three full-width drawers below, each displaying exceptional flame mahogany grain. The turned wooden knobs and brass keyholes complement the warm, reddish-brown patina that only true antique mahogany develops over time.
Distinctive Sheraton-to-Empire transitional characteristics include the elegant spool-turned side columns, shaped apron, hand-cut dovetail joinery, and solid wood panel construction. This chest has a timeless presence—perfect for adding historic charm and craftsmanship to a bedroom, entryway, or living space.
Shows age-appropriate wear, character marks, and patina consistent with its age, which enhance its authentic antique appeal. All drawers open and close smoothly for everyday use.
