The son of a master glassmaker, he came into contact with the art world at an early age and learned the chemistry of glassmaking in Meisenthal, Germany. There, he discovered his passion for fauna and flora, which became a major source of inspiration for his work. Gallé is now recognized for his innovative techniques, such as cut, engraved, and enameled glass. This yellow ceramic cat has integrated glass eyes and is in very good general condition (slight kiln crack and very small scattered chips). Signed “G.R.” Circa 1880-1890. See less
