Large walnut dining table by Paul McCobb for Calvin Furniture, made in Grand Rapids, MI in the 1950s. Brass stretcher bars between the legs provide stability and visual accent, a signature design feature of McCobb’s Irwin collection.
The table includes four leaves, expanding from 72" to a sizable 120", accommodating 10-12 guests as needed. An optional fifth leg is couched within the extension slides and can be deployed to support the center of the table at larger sizes.
The edge tapers from a width of 38" in the center to 30" at the ends giving it a boat shape, a form that preserves seating capacity while reducing the table's footprint.
The table has been fully refinished and the brass polished. In excellent condition and ready for immediate use.
