The carving is crisp and confidently executed, giving the pair an elegant sense of movement and decorative drama.

Each console is topped with a beautifully shaped serpentine marble slab in a soft cream tone with delicate veining. The tops sit securely within moulded giltwood frames and complement the warm glow of the original water-gilding beneath. The gilt surfaces retain a desirable, mellow patina with light, age-appropriate wear that highlights the depth of the carving.
