Mario Salmaso (Venice 1941 - 1995), created in 1975
Salmaso is known for his artistic language, which oscillates between Post-Cubism and a personal form of Abstract Expressionism. In this work, the artist does not depict water or mud, but captures the psychological impact of the disaster. The faces and bodies, barely sketched, emerge from the chromatic mist, staring at the viewer with gazes charged with resigned humanity.
