This piece is a classic example of Italian Modernism design, prized from the 1970s.

Subject and Style: Space Age/Brutalist design. The shape is geometric and dynamic, with four arched points rising upward, creating a "saddle" silhouette. The decoration features a highly textured drip glaze: a deep cobalt blue base over which an orange/rust and white glaze is poured, creating a striking "lava" or flame-like effect.

Material and Finish: Made of glazed ceramic (majolica or earthenware). The finish is glossy and shiny. The interior is glazed in dark blue.

Base: Rests on the four lower points of the structure.
