An outstanding Danish vintage teak sofa / day bed by Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen. This was made in Denmark by France and Son, it dates from the early 1960’s.
It is of superb quality and is extremely comfortable with the original thick, sprung cushions. The teak frame is beautifully crafted, it sits on lovely tapered legs, it has a lovely backrest with a chrome support and solid teak paddle arms also supported by chrome. The legs, backrest and arms can unbolt and detach for ease of transport, so this virtually flat packs.
We have had the frame stripped and re-polished to a very high standard, it is in superb condition throughout. The sprung cushions have been re-upholstered in a cream boucle fabric. The condition is superb throughout.
