Chinese Black Lacquer Chinoiserie Cabinet, MOP Inlay - Striking Chinese black lacquer cabinet with hand‑painted gold details and carved hardstone and mother‑of‑pearl figures in garden scenes on the doors. The sides feature a coordinating bird‑and‑blossom motif, with floral and geometric borders and two lower drawers for hidden storage.
Purchased overseas while traveling, this piece dates to the late 20th century and works beautifully as a small bar cabinet, media/TV component cabinet, or accent storage in a living room, bedroom, or entry. The interior is an open compartment that easily accommodates bottles, books, or electronics.
Condition: Original brass front latch is present but no longer functions and will need repair or replacement to close securely. There is one noticeable scratch on the top and light edge and surface wear consistent with age and use; please see all photos. Structurally sturdy; doors and drawers operate smoothly and inlay is intact overall. Pricing reflects the cosmetic wear and latch issue.
