The Color Build series began in 2022 with an Instagram creative movement called the 100 Day Project where I took recyced materials and made one quick, colorful collage everyday for 100 Days. I think I started incorporating handmade wooden shapes around day 80? My brain was buzzing with possibilities! Wood became a very tactile material for me and was irresistable. I couldn’t help but feel like a kid all over again stacking blocks and creating dream worlds. Fast forward a year and a half later, I am still obsessed with making these blocks with found and repurposed wood. Not only are they a great exercize in working 3D, but they also inform so much for my painting practice. The two feel like natural friends. See less
