Vintage french majolica teapot, produced by sarreguemines in the famous "peking" pattern, circa 1890-1930. Rounded octagonal shape, contoured foot, geometric handle, and elongated spout. The decoration features red and green almond-shaped scrolls bordered in gold, embellished with stylized floral motifs and oriental references. The glaze features beautiful original craquelures, and the palette includes reds, greens, blues, and yellows, typical of the eclectic taste of the late 19th century. The teapot is in near-perfect condition, with a small chip on the spout.
marked under the base ("peking u & cie sarreguemines"), typical of authentic production. An ideal object for collectors of french ceramics, lovers of the chinoiserie style, or interior decorators.
