The chest features a striking geometric moulded front—a hallmark of Jacobean design—with two short drawers above two long drawers each fitted with original handles and escutcheons.
The drawers are oak-lined with early dovetail joinery and run smoothly within the carcass which stands on solid bracket feet. The top displays an exceptional patina, showing the deep, lustrous tones and natural wear that only centuries of use can produce.
