On the Design:

This rug is a complex, vertical tapestry, echoing the lush density of a forest floor often found in Malayer weaving. The deep, variegated chocolate brown field serves as a dramatic canvas for repeated, oversized stylized palmettes and blossoms that climb the field in rich red and muted sky blue.

Within this intense floral geometry lies a fascinating layer of narrative: the design subtly incorporates figural representation of animals.

These simplified forms are woven into the base and sides of the large motifs, acting as hidden guardians within the foliage and adding a layer of primitive charm and tribal symbolism to the sophisticated Persian style.
