On the Design:

This rug is a bold, abstract interpretation of the devotional textile, featuring the iconic mihrab arch that defines the prayer rug tradition.

The aesthetic embraces the primitivist, old-world geometric motifs and a sophisticated, saturated palette.

The entire field is a visual pulse of kinetic energy, dominated by a striking, all-over chevron (zig-zag) pattern created by interlocking bands of earthy terracotta, blue-gray, and natural tan.

This powerful, highly graphic design—a sophisticated exercise in tribal geometry—draws the eye upward towards the mihrab's apex, creating a unique sense of movement and direction within the sacred space.

The field is beautifully contained by simple, rhythmic guard bands, allowing the central energy to take precedence.
