There is nothing applied or ornamental about it, the form pared back so the material carries it.

Roman travertine is the stone of ancient Rome, formed in the mineral springs around Tivoli and used across the Colosseum and the colonnades of St Peter's Square. It carries a soft, creamy beige tone, its delicate linear veining and gently layered structure warmer and more understated than the marbles. These tops are cut from natural stone, and no two of these Roman travertine side tables are ever quite the same.

The structure is shown rather than hidden. Two panels of the same stone are notched at right angles and slotted one through the other into an interlocking cross-leg base, with no bracket and no metal to break the line.

The Roman travertine side table asks little of a room and gives it a centre, at home beside a sofa or a favourite chair. Like every Lebanto piece, the Kyushu is made to order in Cantù, in the historic heart of Lombardy's furniture district, from a curated material palette of full-slab stone, solid timber, and premium Italian glass.
