Mario Salmaso (Venice 1941 - 1995), created in 1963.
The artist was a student and assistant to two key figures of the Italian twentieth century: the master Virgilio Guidi and the renowned abstract painter Giuseppe Santomaso.
The work is an exceptional example of postwar Figurative Expressionism, capturing the profound sense of anguish and alienation caused by the impetuous urban and industrial development of the Italian Economic Boom.
