An extraordinarily rare pair of large cone-shaped wall lights, designed by max ingrand and produced by fontana arte in italy in 1955. These lamps feature sizable conical satin glass shades with finely beveled edges, mounted on graceful trident-style supports with three rounded prongs in patinated brass. The mounts culminate in a striking, rounded, elongated finial, masterfully crafted from thick crystal with deep beveling on the front—an exceptional and distinctive detail that adds to the design’s uniqueness. A prime example of impeccable craftsmanship and poised elegance, these sconces stand as some of ingrand’s finest works, showcasing the best of his artistic legacy. When illuminated, they provide a beautiful, atmospheric light. The brass retains its original, charming patina, enhancing the lamps’ authenticity and giving them a one-of-a-kind character. However, if preferred, the brass can be polished to a bright finish upon request. Literature; max ingrand du verre a la lumiere, pierre-emmanuel martin-vivier, norma editions 2009. Page 253.
