Monochrome lithograph, blue on ivory paper, 50x70 cm. Print 71/99. Elio Bellora, an artist from Lucca, worked in the 1970s on a series of allegorical portraits depicting important Italian and, more often, Tuscan figures. This portrait of Garibaldi depicts him against a background of the rising sun, agaves, or palm trees, surrounded by vaguely South American figures, with seagulls flying in the sky. The Futurist style, or more generally, the avant-garde style of the early 20th century, has strong echoes in Bellora's work, as can also be seen in the other prints featured in other articles. The vintage condition is excellent. This piece has an attribution mark,
