This cabinet has a simple design but is beautifully painted in mainly green and red colors with floral decorations on the panels. Considering its age, this piece is still in good condition, although there are naturally some slight signs of wear. There are a few sporadic traces of woodworm, which have of course been checked and treated, and the paint is quite worn. All in all, a very characteristic piece. The interior of the cabinet consists of shelves. The cabinet still has its original working lock and key. In the past, it was customary to give wedding furniture like this to the couple as a wedding gift. This furniture was then placed in a display room on the farm, which was rarely used except for important visitors or special occasions. A beautiful and decorative piece of history. This piece comes from southern Germany. Although the painted year above the doors has faded, we were able to date this cabinet because we have a chest from the same household effects that is painted in the same way and is clearly dated 1790. 176 cm high, 125 cm wide, 52 cm deep.
