On the Design:

Particularly inspired by antique Caucasian rugs of the Shirvan provenance, this rug features primitivist, old-world geometric patterns in wonderfully softened, earthy hues.

The central field is dominated by a complex, layered medallion system consisting of two main stepped medallions rendered in rich, deep brick red.

These focus points are filled with intricate latch-hook and small-scale flower motifs in accents of blue, cream, and brown.

The surrounding field and the multi-layered borders are filled with densely packed geometric figures, stars, and latch-hook symbols, all executed in a muted, variegated palette.
