Rien Goené was a … Read more Hard to find, unique artwork coffee table designed and made by Rien Goené, Utrecht, late 50s. Rien Goené was a Dutch artist, painter and sculptor who inspired his work on the Cobra movement that was founded in 1948. He started making tables together with Paul Kingma, who was very successful making this kind of tables between 1958 and 2000.

Rien Goené focused more on sculptures and only made a small number of tables. The top of this table has been richly inlayed with the most beautiful stones Goené could find. The tables are very unique and have a great abstract finished top. Table is signed at the bottom Rien Goené with a handprint.

The table is in good original condition with user marks / wear along the edges and corners, which you see often with these type of tables. It gives it an even more brutalist look & feel. See all images for a good impression.
