His work was characterized by simple, clean lines and optimal functionality, using high-quality materials such as luxury woods and leather. Geytenbeek found inspiration in the work of Gerrit Rietveld and had connections with the Institute for Industrial Design in Amsterdam. He believed that a good design should be both aesthetic and practical and strove to combine the two. Several of his designs were awarded prestigious design prizes.
