education: from 1936 to 1940, van der horst studied at the arnhem academy of art and design. Theo van der horst lived and worked in arnhem. Van der horst created expressionist-style oil paintings of people, animals, and landscapes. He also created etchings, drawings, gouaches, sculptures, and stained-glass windows.
from the 1950s to the 1970s, van der horst exhibited several times, including at the gemeentemuseum arnhem, stedelijk museum schiedam, and the dordrechts museum.
in 1954, he won a prize from the province of zeeland for flood paintings, the arnhem prize for visual arts in 1954, and the quarles van ufford prize in 1962. After the 1970s, van der horst chose a secluded existence. This piece has an attribution mark,
