Elegant Coronado model sofa, designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa for C&B Italia (present manufacturer’s label). Internal steel structure, polyurethane foam padding and soft ivory-coloured leather covering. The design, characterized by generous shapes and quilted cushions with buttons, combines comfort and architectural lines typical of Scarpa’s work. The Coronado model represents one of the icons of Italian design of the sixties, the first example of the use of structural foam technology in upholstered furniture. In good vintage condition, with slight signs of use consistent with age and normal maintenance.
