the magnificent “lakene” ceiling lamp was designed by flemming brylle and preben jacobsen for ikea. This sculptural piece consists of seven white acrylic strips held together by a transparent methacrylate structure. This structure comprises two intersecting circular plates with grooves for the acrylic strips, which are positioned horizontally within the sphere, their circumference varying according to their height. The lamp hangs from an extendable cable with a decorative ceiling rose. Light is provided by a single bulb socket. Thanks to its minimalist design and light, translucent colors, this piece casts a soft ambient light over the room.
