"Through my creations, I strive to capture the beauty and sensuality of my subjects." Born in France in 1957, Olivier Duhamel is a French figurative sculptor who has lived in New Zealand since 1987. After extensive travels in Europe, Central Africa, and the South Pacific, he settled on Waiheke Island, near Auckland, where he has lived and worked ever since.

Passionate about human morphology, Duhamel perfected the art of representing the body through sculptures in bronze, wood, and acrylic. He is particularly renowned for his innovative laminated sculpture technique, in which laser-cut wood or resin panels are assembled by hand to create detailed and expressive three-dimensional forms.
