The vases are … Read more A pair of antique 19th-century Italian Empire gilded carved wooden centerpiece lamps, crafted with early 19th-century finials. The vases are mounted on a hexagonal plinth with vegetal-carved pastiglia frames, mounted as a lamp with a circular ivory-colored fabric shade with gold trimmings.
The vases are made of lime wood, turned and carved in the round with original fine gold leaf gilding on a red bole primer. These gilded finials originally decorated the top of a canopy or balustrade, but they are antique decorative elements that lend themselves perfectly to creating exclusive table, study, or bedside lamps. The antique bases come from Northern Italy and are in good condition, with minimal defects consistent with their age. They are electrified according to European standards and use an E27 bulb.
