1950´s set of two 1'st edition Vilhelm Lauritzen wall lights by Louis Poulsen
The rare set of two original 1'st edition Danish vintage "Radiohuset" (Danish Radio) wall lights were originally designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen and manufactured by Louis Poulsen.
Vilhelm Lauritzen (1894-1984) was one of Denmarks most significant architects and a leading figure of danish functionalism. A number of his buildings had a total interior solution - first the airport Kastrup at Copenhagen (1937-39) and after that the radiohuset (1936-41), Folkets hus (1953-56) better known today as Vega, Danish embassy in Washington (1958-60) - all representing the essence of contemporary life and are today considered priceless monuments to european modernism The wall lights with their two white handblown opaline glass shades on a brass frame have been polished and will be rewired according to the specifications in buyers location.
