Ubald klug for de sede — ds-1025 “terrazza” sofa in patinated leather, 1970s original ds-1025 “terrazza” landscape sofa element by ubald klug for de sede, switzerland, 1970s. Iconic post-modern design in richly patinated brown leather with sculptural, layered contours. Designed by ubald klug for de sede in the early 1970s, the ds-1025 “terrazza” sofa remains one of the most recognizable icons of post-modern furniture design. Inspired by natural land formations and italian amphitheatres, its stepped, terraced layers create an organic landscape that is both functional and sculptural. This authentic single element (1 × available) was produced by de sede switzerland circa the 1970s and is fully upholstered in its original high-quality brown leather. The leather shows a beautifully aged patina with natural colour variations, folds, and signs of use that highlight its vintage character. The exceptional craftsmanship and generous padding are characteristic of de sede’s renowned swiss quality, ensuring comfort as well as visual impact. Each “terrazza” element can stand alone or be combined with other modules to form larger, flowing compositions—from daybeds to expansive lounge installations. Its sculptural profile and rich surface texture make it equally suitable for residential interiors, art spaces, or hotel lobbies seeking a statement piece. This example presents an appealing, even patina, minor wear consistent with age, and solid structure throughout. A rare opportunity to acquire an original ds-1025 in untouched vintage condition.
