Marvelous hand-blown rostrato Murano glass basket. This spectacular rare decorative piece was produced by Barovier in Italy during the 1940s. In museum condition, not missing a single spike and with no chips or cracks. The basket features a sculptural, finely textured body in mouth-blown crystal glass, with a gracefully curved handle and scalloped edges that enhance the brilliance of the glass. The intricate rostrato technique gives the piece its distinctive tactile surface and magnificent light refraction. A rare and precious Murano creation, perfect as a centerpiece, vide-poche, or decorative accent to elevate a modern, mid-century, or classic interior.
