The lamp is based on a wrought iron tripod holding a massive iron "pear" shape holding a beautiful perforated wood pulley, under a wide classical shade (which can be replaced by different size and shape on demand.
This is a great example of French brutalist artists revisiting classical lamp design by reusing mechanical and marine elements:
It is undoubtedly a unique piece made by a (still) anonymous artist, who is part of an important brutalist movement, of modernist and hippie inspiration, which developed in the French countryside and here seaside during the 60s-70s, reusing agricultural tools to make furniture and lighting creations, in the lineage of creators like Jean Touret, the Artisans de Marolles, and others.
