designed in 1963 by jens møller-jensen for louis poulsen, the albertslund (also known as orbiter) ceiling lamp is a classic example of danish functionalist lighting. Originally developed for a residential project in albertslund near copenhagen, the design evolved into an extensive series of wall, ceiling, pole, and pendant lights.
this example features the rarer colour version in grey, with an unpainted galvanised aluminium top dome — a detail distinguishing earlier production and giving the lamp its subtle industrial character. The shade is paired with a clear glass diffuser and the iconic “saturn ring” anti-glare reflector, secured by three small bolts, engineered to provide soft, even, and glare-controlled illumination.
the lamp is fitted with its original white fabric cord (length: 190 cm) lp ceiling rose and a porcelain e27 socket.
