This particular ph5 lamp most likely comes from the 1980s. It is one of the most famous pendant lamp designs hailing from denmark, created by architect poul henningsen for the lighting manufacturer louis poulsen. First introduced in 1958, the ph5 has since become an iconic piece of mid-century modern design. The purpose of the ph5 design was to provide glare-free lighting, achieved by the lampshade with several concentric shades working together to diffuse the light and prevent any harsh glare.

the lamp also features a curved, trumpet-shaped reflector, which directs light downwards, creating a soft, warm glow.
