The fixture features four cream-coloured glass shades with … Read more Early ceiling light designed by paavo tynell for taito in the 1930s. The fixture features four cream-coloured glass shades with softly rounded forms, arranged around a central brass sphere. Curved brass arms support each shade, giving the piece a graceful, floral character typical of tynell’s early work. The lamp is suspended from a textile-covered cord and a brass canopy with a tassel detail, both characteristic of tynell’s refined craftsmanship during this period. A beautiful example of finnish art deco transitioning into early modernism. Very good vintage condition. Wiring: all our lamps are wired for eu standards. Unfortunately, we have neither the means nor the qualifications to wire them for us standards. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
