Crafted from polished and nickel-plated brass tubing, the lamp has a linear design consisting of two interlocking squares, one suspended from the other and resting on a black marble base. The structural frame serves as both support and lighting element, housing linear fluorescent tubes (original soffits shown, also available as leds) that underscore the clarity of the design. The composition is rigorous yet expressive: a grid reduced to its essentials. The lamp is inspired by the rationalist aesthetics of the union des artistes modernes, of which adnet was a prominent member.
this iconic lamp from 1929 is an early model from 1976/77, revived by gilles derain, founder of lumen center. The beautiful, decades-old patina indicates this early production.
the four original, functioning soffits or matching led soffits are included.
a quadro played alongside christoph waltz in "god of carnage" (2011). This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
