Pair of Italian wall sconces produced in the 1950s, characterized by a minimalist linear design. Each lamp features a cylindrical opaline glass diffuser supported by a slender brass arm that extends from a circular wall plate. The plate, with a diameter of 10 cm (3.93 in), anchors the fixture to the wall and is secured with two visible brass fasteners.
The rod extends diagonally, terminating in a small black cap detail that balances the visual composition. The glass diffusers are attached by two small brass pins, creating a clean mechanical connection between the metal and glass components.
The brass structure shows an even aged patina, consistent with the period. Each sconce is equipped with a standard E14 socket, suitable for use in Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
A refined example of 1950s Italian modern design, where proportion, simplicity, and function are combined through precise craftsmanship and well-balanced geometry.
