A rare set of six knife rests, each featuring a different animal figurine, by Wiskemann of Brussels, dating from the Art Nouveau period. The knife rests depict a hare, fox, dachshund, schnauzer, goose, and pheasant, all rendered with meticulous detail and expressive character.
The Wiskemann company was based in Brussels, Belgium, and was founded around 1870 under the name Orfevrerie Bruno Wiskemann.
The knife rests are silver-plated. Each rest is marked "Wiskemann 24" on the underside.
