The fall front has a key which can be used to keep the interior safely locked.

The drop front can be dropped to expose the quality mahogany desk work top. The striking interior has a plethora of pigeon holes, which are perfect for storing documents, papers, books or memorabilia. The interior shelving is oak, but the rest of the bureau is mahogany.

The desk is supported by two pull out hinged slats that can be extended to hold the desk front open.

The front of the bureau has a wonderful smaller upper drawers, and two larger spacious lower graduating drawers. All of the drawers are finished with an inlaid design, and the original gorgeous antique brass metal drop handles. There are key holes to the drawers but they do not lock with the present key.

Leading down this bureau stands proudly on 4 solid figured feet, that are finished with a lower raised boarder.

This is a charming Edwardian antique writing bureau that is sure to add sophistication and class to a living or office home setting.

Overall, this writing bureau is in great antique condition, with general signs of use and veneer wear to the desk front, as to be expected from years of historical use (see photographs).
There are minor signs of historical woodworm to the lower drawer, that has been fully treated by the previous owner (see photograph).
There is a sign of wood damage to the upper pigeon hole (see photograph).
