A Victorian/Georgian-style sofa from the late 1800s to early 1900s—especially one made of mahogany with claw feet—is a beautiful example of late 19th-century revival furniture. During this era, designers looked back to earlier Georgian and Chippendale influences, bringing back elegant curves, cabriole legs, and the dramatic ball-and-claw feet originally inspired by 18th-century English design. Mahogany was a premium hardwood of the time, prized for its strength, fine grain, and deep reddish tone, so it was commonly used in higher-end parlor furniture meant to show status and refinement.
The sofa is in excellent condition and believed to be in original upholstery.
