Mid century modern, both mat relate to slaves being brought to America as the first looks like a man holding a long rifle watching over the cargo and is painted on a moving and warehouse receipt, the other looks like a boat coming thru a storm. The 1 st one is signed and dated 10/26/79, the red in the second one may be emphasizing that a some want survive the trip, Purvis lived at Goodbread alley in the getto of Miami, he probably painted these small ones so they would still be affordable to his neighborhood once he was gone and his prices went up See less
