The portrait is well-detailed, depicting Caesar in profile with a wreath crown, curly hair, strong nose, and stoic expression. The intaglio is bezel set in an 18k gold ring shank that has a knot-like design and beautiful patina. The carnelian has a deep color to it, and is polished on the interior of the carving, giving it a rich, luxurious glow.

Julius Caesar was a Roman general and statesman who lived from 100 - 44 B.C. He led the Roman armies in the Gallic Wars and became a powerful leader, introducing political reforms that led to the rise of the Roman Empire. Though many of his efforts were popular in Roman society, he was eventually assassinated, his opponents fearing his level of power. He remains an intriguing and controversial historical figure, and is often portrayed in film and literature.

The ring weighs 8.4 grams. The carnelian measures 16 x 13 x 2.5 mm. The ring is unmarked but acid tests as 18k.
