There's something very special about this painting. It's somehow lighthearted and glum at the same time. I've tried heartily to identify the artist, with no success. It invokes the grittiness of a late 19th/early 20th century cityscape, and the subject appears to be a young paperboy, smoking a cigarette. Perhaps New York City? London?
