One of the most special pieces we've had, a striking vintage Holly Hunt sectional swathed in Rubelli's extraordinary Modern Art fabric in their Oro colorway. The quality of this sofa is simply unmatched--every component is dense, substantial, and expertly upholstered. Perched on a dark wood plinth base, this one-of-a-kind sofa will steal the show in any room.
The fabric is a new edition of the original velvet designed by the artist Alfredo Carnelutti and woven by Rubelli for the Art Biennale in 1934. In pure art deco style it features ochre-colored irregular horizontal shapes created by the viscose pile, which stretch out over a creamy ground enriched by small golden diamond shapes.
Originally purchased for $40,000. The Rubelli fabric alone on this piece cost over $14,000.
The dimension are as follows:
Full L-Shape: 120"W x 120"D x 33.5"H
Each of the two single arm sections: 78"W x 42"D x 33.5"H
Corner section: 42"W x 42"D x 33.5"H
Seat height is 20".
The total height of approximately 33.5" includes the back cushions. The height of the sofa base without the back cushions is 28.5"
