Shimmering nacre pieces form flowing arrangements of blossoms, vines, and birds, motifs traditionally associated with good fortune, renewal, and scholarly refinement in Chinese decorative arts.

Measuring 8 inches wide, 4.75 inches deep, and 4 inches high, the box’s compact form suggests it may have served as a personal valuables box or a scholar’s container for brushes, seals, or writing accessories. Good antique condition, there has been some age-related shrinkage to the wood as seen on lid and corners on close inspection. There is a lock but no key. Signs of wear and handling.
