Designed by Jens Quistgaard and made in France in the 1960s as shown on maker's stamp on bottom. Mid-century modern Dansk cookware is internationally known for its sculptural and functional design. With clean lines, bold colors, and stylish forms Dansk Kobenstyle was manufactured in Denmark until starting in 1955. In 1965 production moved to France. By the late 1970s the line was so popular it was manufactured internationally and sold all over Europe, America and Japan. Features include distinctive three-part curved handles pinpoint welded to reduce heat, four stem lid handles that function as trivets, and teak pot handles to protect hands when pouring. Danish sculptor and craftsman Jens Quistgaard was the line’s chief designer. Dansk Kobenstyle is collected by major museums, and Quistgaard’s industrial design work and sculptures have won several international awards. See less
