This vintage 7x12 Persian Kilim is believed to be a tribal Karadagh rug. Handwoven in wool, it originates circa 1940-1950 from the mountainous region of that name known for its craft.
Further on the Design:
The design favors wide stripes in saturated and vibrant tones that stand out naturally against the black undertone. Keen eyes may admire burgundy red, hot pink, rust orange and similar hues, as well as a mild abrash and embroidered element within.
Connoisseurs and designers alike will further admire its unusual large size for a Kilim in this provenance. It’s a rare Kilim like few of its kind, and it’s in good condition for its origin as well.
